The St. James Cenotaph, located in Bruce Park, Winnipeg, was originally erected in 1936 by the St. James Royal Canadian Legion No. 4 to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the First World War. Over time, the cenotaph suffered frost damage, leading to the erection of a replica in 1990 that includes veterans from all major wars of the 20th century. This landmark not only commemorates our heroes but also serves as a point of interest for visitors exploring the historic sites of Manitoba.

Managed by the Manitoba Historical Society, the cenotaph stands as a testament to the collective memory of our community. Through its dedication and ongoing preservation, the cenotaph plays an essential role in educating visitors about our shared history and the importance of remembrance. Join us in exploring this significant historic site and be part of preserving its legacy for future generations.
